Alloro restaurant is a popular yet intimate and understated Italian restaurant on Dover Street, in the heart of London’s Mayfair. It is always buzzing with a sophisticated international crowd. Meaning ‘bay leaf’ in Italian, Alloro serves up a menu of delicious and simple traditional Italian cuisine with a modern twist, and all dishes are prepared using seasonal produce.

The private dining room is tucked away next to the kitchen and can be closed off behind frosted glass doors. Seating 8 around a central table or up to 16 including the bench seating, it’s a cosy and informal dining area that is great for casual meetings or jovial celebrations. The plush leather chairs are in deep burgundy, the benches and walls a mix of grey and beige and the tiled flooring gives a clean look to the space. A plasma screen is optional and fresh flower decorations adorn the white table cloth.

A second semi-private option is also available by the kitchen where a round table with high backed benches allows for an intimate meeting for small groups. For large groups up to 40 the entire back area of Alloro can be cordoned off. Il Baretto bar flows well from the main restaurant but breaks with the more subtle colour scheme with its funky teal walls. It makes for a great space to start your evening with a pre-dinner thirst-quencher.
