The historic buildings of Lincoln’s Inn are set in spacious, beautifully maintained private gardens right in the heart of Central London.

The oldest of the four Inns of Court, the buildings and gardens of Lincoln’s Inn house an active, working society of barristers and judges, and law students and members alike have dined “in Hall” since 1490.

THE OLD HALL

The Old Hall is a fine example of beautifully maintained Tudor architecture and has many notable features including the wooden screen at the south end, designed by Inigo Jones, and Hogarth’s painting of “Paul before Felix” on the North wall.

THE GREAT HALL

Opened by Queen Victoria in 1845, The Great Hall is the largest hall of any of the Inns and is considered to be one of the most distinguished buildings designed by Philip Hardwick working in the Tudor Revival style. On the North Wall is a huge and magnificent fresco executed by G.F. Watts, the Pre-Raphaelite painter, showing the world’s law givers from Moses to Edward I.

Whether it is the magnificence of the Old Hall or the grandeur of the Great Hall, the rooms available to hire at Lincoln’s Inn provide the most sumptuous and unique backdrops for all kinds of events.
